In November, IMR-2 mine clearing engineering vehicles and TMM-3 heavy mechanized bridges were transferred to the engineering units (including sapper, road, and pontoon units - editor's note www1.ru) of the Central Military District (CMD). This was reported by the press service of the Russian Ministry of Defense.
The IMR-2, based on the T-72 tank, received bulldozer and crane equipment, and a remote mine clearing unit. The vehicle is designed for laying paths in difficult terrain and creating passages in minefields.
TMM-3s are developed on the basis of army high-mobility trucks - KrAZ-255B. They are used to install bridge crossings for the passage of equipment weighing up to 60 tons. The bridge kit consists of four bridge layers, each carrying a bridge block with supports (block length - 10.5 m, width - 3.8 m).
Estimated bridge assembly time:
- four spans - 72 min.
- three spans - 56 min.
- two spans - 30 min.
- one span - 11 min.
It is noted that in November, the engineering troops of the Central Military District received about 10 units of special equipment, including PTS-2 floating transporters.
Earlier it was reported that several sets of R-416GM and R-416GM2 digital radio stations were transferred to the military district.
