Members of the Federation Council have begun testing Russian smartphones running the "Aurora" OS, according to Senator Artem Sheikin. It turns out that the domestic firmware has both advantages and disadvantages.
Currently, Sheikin is testing the "Aquarius" NS M11 and M12 smartphones. According to him, thanks to the "Aurora" OS, the devices surpass foreign counterparts in ensuring the security of confidential data.
Among the disadvantages, Sheikin mentioned the limited number of applications that can be installed on the devices.
There are no publicly available messengers used by relatives and friends
As a result, one has to use a second smartphone to communicate with relatives. Overall, the senator spoke positively about the tested OS on Russian devices. The phones hold a charge for several days, and there is enough RAM for quick launch and acceptable application performance, he summarized.
Previously, the lack of various applications on the "Aurora" OS was pointed out by the Speaker of the Federation Council, Valentina Matvienko.
It was previously reported that the digital store RuStore (with about 8,000 applications in its library) will be pre-installed on all devices running on the "Aurora" OS.
