In Russia, a humanitarian demining machine MGR-4 "Bumblebee" was created. The base for the "Bumblebee" was the Russian loader Ant-1000, also known as the "Ant", which was developed on the Kovrov Electromechanical Plant and in the VNIIs (Scientific-Research Institutes) "Signal" as a part of the "High Precision Complexes" holding of Rostec.
The "Bumblebee" is unmanned, operated by a nearby operator. The demining device crawls along the territory where there were battles or where mines might be specially installed, working at a speed of one kilometer per hour.
Neutralization occurs thanks to special chains with striking tips. The width of the shaft left by the "Bumblebee" is 2.2 meters, the depth of the removed layer of soil is more than 150 millimeters.
When exploded, the machine withstands 200 g of TNT, that is, an anti-infantry mine. Anti-tank mines already significantly damage the MGR-4 "Bumblebee", but in the state corporation, it is noted that this equipment is not very expensive for production. By rough estimates, Russia currently needs several thousand such machines.
