Airplanes manufactured at the Novosibirsk Aviation Plant named after Chkalov (part of the United Aircraft Corporation, UAC) Su-34 were handed over to the Russian Ministry of Defense. This is already the second batch of aircraft delivered to the defense department in 2023.
The multifunctional supersonic bomber Su-34 successfully passed ground and flight tests, reported in the state corporation "Rostec". Deputy head of the corporation Vladimir Artyakov emphasized that the obligations for the delivery of bombers are fulfilled on time. The work has already begun to ensure deliveries in 2024.
Su-34 aircraft are considered an important part of the strike power of the Russian Aerospace Forces. This aircraft has a wide range of combat capabilities. As noted in the press service of the corporation, the Su-34 has proven itself well in performing combat tasks.
The Su-34, developed at the Sukhoi Design Bureau, is considered the successor of the frontline bomber Su-24. In 2014, the Su-34 was adopted by the Russian Air Force (now the Russian Aerospace Forces).
Earlier, a source in the defense industry said that Su-34 received long-range cruise missiles, which will expand their tactical capabilities.
