A new vehicle for combating unmanned aerial vehicles and combat aircraft has been built in Serbia. The anti-aircraft system is called Harpas. It is armed with two 40-mm Bofors automatic cannons (up to 240 rounds per minute) and surface-to-air missiles. Most interestingly, the chassis is taken from the M84 tank, which is based on the Russian T-72M1.
Harpas is a further development of the PASARS-16 Terminator air defense system, but that was built on a wheeled chassis, while Harpas has tracks. The new product is equipped with a radar station and a sighting system that allows engaging several targets simultaneously.
It is assumed that the Harpas combat module can be installed on other tracked and wheeled vehicles.
