Импортозамещенный российский пассажирский лайнер SJ-100 завершает программу испытаний на земле – скоро первый полет

One of the last tests before the flight is a run with the nose landing gear lifting off the runway

Rostec announced that the first domestically sourced model of the Russian short-haul airliner SJ-100 has successfully completed test runs with the nose landing gear lifting off the runway.

A run with the nose landing gear lifting off is an important step in preparing for flight tests. It allows the crew to simultaneously practice the takeoff procedure and the process of aborting it. The SJ-100 has also successfully completed "shimmy" tests: when the aircraft lands, transverse forces from the ground begin to act on the tire of the rolling wheel, leading to oscillations that can lead to loss of control and even destruction of the landing gear. To combat this phenomenon, the aircraft's landing gear is equipped with special dampers. During the field tests, it was verified that the SJ-100 landing gear effectively copes with the "shimmy" effect.

The next stage of SJ-100 testing will be the first test flight – it will take place in September.
