Rostec Unveils Upgraded Ka-226T Multipurpose Modular Helicopter

Its configuration can be changed at the airfield in just half an hour

Russian Helicopters holding, which is part of Rostec, has unveiled the upgraded Ka-226T multipurpose modular helicopter. In the new version, the maximum application altitude has been increased to 6.5 km, and the flight range has been increased by increasing the volume of fuel tanks.

The fuselage uses lightweight materials and an crash-resistant fuel system is installed. The upgraded Ka-226T received a new set of flight-navigation and radio communication equipment.

The special feature of the Ka-226T is the ability to quickly change the configuration directly at the airfield. In half an hour, the helicopter can be transformed from a passenger helicopter into a cargo or ambulance helicopter.

The Ka-226T is adapted for flights in the mountains and over water, and the coaxial scheme ensures compactness and high maneuverability. The helicopter is resistant to crosswinds and has a high rate of climb. The Ka-226T can land on extremely limited-size platforms, including seagoing vessels.
