The Minister of Transportation of the Russian Federation Vitaly Savelyev discussed the current state, a year after the imposition of severe sanctions, of the servicing and spare parts supply for Russia's Boeing and Airbus.

"Currently, we don't have any significant problems with spare parts. Logistics has expanded, but we don't see any problems yet", – said Vitaly Savelyev.

"Usually parts are delivered within a day to two weeks, so we get the imported part in this range so the plane doesn't stand idle. This was the case everywhere, including abroad: you can take a similar part from another plane and put it on this plane, and when the part we ordered arrives, it's put on the plane from which we removed it. This practice existed and continues to exist, and there's nothing wrong with it. At this moment the aircrafts are partially stripped. Partially, I underline. They will be in the nearest future restored, seven of them. Seven out of 1162", – explained Savelyev.

The minister added that Russian aviation technical companies can simultaneously repair 74 narrow-body and 14 wide-body aircrafts, and this is enough to maintain the current fleet.
