Tyumen scientists have created a neuromorphic device that performs acoustic oil and gas exploration due to a built-in algorithm for recognizing the sounds of an oil well. The mechanism works by analogy with the neural networks of living organisms (in fact, like the human brain), that is, it encodes information based on input data. Such neuroprocessors are used for computer vision and machine learning systems.
The device created by scientists will carry out neural network analysis of seismic acoustic noise in the rock. Using this technology, industry enterprises will be able to extract more oil and determine the sources of waterflooding. According to Rossiyskaya Gazeta, specialized companies are already interested in the experience of Tyumen residents in the digitalization of the industry.
