Scientists from Tyumen have created a neuromorphic device that performs acoustic search for oil and gas using a built-in algorithm for recognizing the sounds of an oil well. The mechanism works similarly to the neural networks of living organisms (essentially, like a human brain), i.e., it encodes information based on input data. Such neuroprocessors are used for computer vision systems and machine learning.
The device created by scientists will perform neural network analysis of seismic acoustic noises in bedrock. With this technology, oil industry enterprises will be able to extract more oil and identify sources of flooding. As The Russian Newspaper writes, Tyumen's experience in digitizing the industry has already raised interest in profile companies.
