The annual “Direct Line with Vladimir Putin” in 2025 will be held on December 19 at 12:00 Moscow time in the format of “Year-End Review”: the president will answer questions from citizens and journalists, and appeals are accepted in advance by phone, through the website, social networks and messengers.
On Friday, December 19, 2025, at 12:00 Moscow time, the program “Year-End Review with Vladimir Putin” will take place. The format combines a direct line with citizens and a major press conference. Russian President Vladimir Putin will summarize the results of the year and answer questions from citizens and media representatives.
The organizers note that the broadcast will last several hours. Viewers are advised to plan their viewing time in advance, as the program traditionally features key statements and possible decisions on topical issues.
The first direct line with Vladimir Putin took place in 2001. Since then, the format has become annual, with the exception of 2004, 2012, 2020 and 2022, when the event was not held. In 2024, the “Year-End Review” program lasted 4 hours and 27 minutes.
How to Ask a Question on the Direct Line with Putin in 2025
It was possible to ask the president a question from December 4 until the end of the broadcast on December 19. Several official communication channels are available for this.
Questions are accepted:
- Through the website moskva-putinu.ru, as well as through the domain москва-путину.рф.
- On the toll-free hotline 8-800-200-40-40 for all regions of Russia.
- Via SMS or MMS to the short number 0-40-40.
In addition, appeals are accepted in the official communities of the program on “ВКонтакте” and “Одноклассниках”. There are forms available for text messages and uploading video questions. Another, new for this year, method is a chat bot in the MAX messenger.
The organizers advise to formulate questions briefly and to the point, indicate specific data — region, address, departments and deadlines, if it concerns a local problem, and avoid emotional assessments. Neural network technologies are used to process appeals. They also show on the map what most concerns citizens of individual regions.
As of December 18, more than 2 million appeals had been received for the direct line with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
