Глупо или гениально? Можно ли с помощью Xbox и PlayStation управлять дронами

Why Does the European Union Want to Ban Xbox and PlayStation Shipments to Russia?

The European Union is exploring the possibility of banning shipments of Xbox and PlayStation game consoles to Russia. Brussels believes that the consoles can be used to control drones. Alexander Kaniovsky, Deputy General Director of Fly Drone, notes that this is theoretically possible if the console is reprogrammed. However, according to him, the reprogramming process will be too expensive.

However, it is impossible to control drones through the console itself, as PlayStation and Xbox consoles are not equipped with a radio channel. Only Bluetooth and Wi-Fi are used for communication, which only work within line of sight.

PlayStation and Xbox game joysticks can theoretically be reprogrammed to control drones, but this will cost several times more than buying a Chinese joystick or remote control.

Despite the proposed EU sanctions, demand for game consoles is growing in Russia. Currently, most of these devices are imported through China or the UAE, and new restrictions are unlikely to have a significant impact on supplies.

Some analysts believe that if sanctions are imposed, the cost of consoles may increase by an average of 10%. However, according to Mikhail Pimenov, Director of Game Industry Development at Synergy University, gamers should not worry. He notes that you can always buy a used console.

It is unlikely that this restriction will affect the final cost of consoles, because everything will depend on retailers. If logistics do not undergo any significant changes, then prices are unlikely to be very different from those we see today.

The secondary console market has always been popular among buyers. This is a great opportunity to purchase used games on physical media, which continue to work just as well as new ones.

Pimenov emphasizes that PlayStation 5 is in particular demand in Russia due to the fact that games on discs work without any restrictions. It is enough to have a disc, and the game will function without problems.

Experts believe that sanctions are stimulating the development of the gaming industry in Russia. Although it is still a long way to creating our own console, says Mikhail Pimenov.

In June, the Ministry of Industry and Trade began looking for developers of a Russian game console. The project will be called PlaySpace and will cost up to 50 thousand rubles. It is not yet known when the console will appear on the market.

Earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin instructed members of the Cabinet to consider the issue of organizing the production of game consoles. Telecom operator MTS has already introduced MTS Fog Play — its first specialized game console for cloud gaming. This device promises to completely change the gaming experience, allowing you to turn any TV into a real gaming center.
