Russian attack drones "Molniya-2" may have been used for the first time with terminals of the new satellite communication system "Rassvet". This was reported by journalist Boris Rozhin.
According to him, thanks to the update, the drones effectively ignore most current electronic warfare systems. This information is also reported by the "Voennoye Obozreniye" publication.
Recall that in early August it became known that the "Rassvet" satellite constellation provides several hours of communication per day for the military. According to open data, 12 out of 16 devices have reached the target orbit at 550 km.
The commercial launch of "Rassvet" is planned for 2027 - by this time, about 250 devices should be operating in orbit. By 2035, the constellation could be expanded to 900 satellites.
Prior to this, "Molniya-2" drones switched to using mesh modems after abandoning Starlink satellite communication terminals. The operating range there is estimated up to 1500 MHz.
