Foreign customers of Russian T-14 Armata tanks can propose their own options for equipping combat vehicles. This is possible due to the modular design, explained Alexander Potapov, CEO of Uralvagonzavod.
According to him, the Armata has high export potential. However, permits are needed to bring it to the foreign market.
Given its modular design and open digital architecture, the [T-14] can be adapted to the specific requirements of a particular foreign customer.
Potapov added that many foreign tank-building schools have also followed the path of the T-14. Combat vehicles are being equipped with a protected crew capsule and an uninhabited turret, but for UVZ itself, the Armata is not the limit, concluded the head of UVZ.
Western analysts at Military Watch Magazine calculated that launching the Armata into large-scale production will even be cheaper than increasing the production volumes of the T-90M Proryv due to its upgradeability.
It should be noted that the cost of one Armata tank was estimated at approximately 500 million rubles, while the T-90M costs about 350 million rubles.
