More than 21 billion rubles will be allocated to improve road safety in Russia over the next 3 years. The funds are included in the draft federal budget for 2027–2029 — 7 billion rubles are planned to be allocated annually for the program.
The largest item among those listed in the document is equipping patrol cars with on-board hardware and software systems for state license plate recognition. In 2027, over 2.67 billion rubles are provided for them, in 2028 — 2.72 billion, and in 2029 — over 2.92 billion rubles.
Another part of the funds will be directed directly to assisting road accident victims. DPS vehicles will be equipped with special medical kits so that inspectors can provide first aid to victims before the arrival of medics. From 32.4 to 87.7 million rubles are provided annually for this.
In addition, about 136 million rubles per year will be allocated for the development of a system to assist accident victims. Another 18.1 million rubles will be allocated annually to increase the automation and structural safety of vehicles.
Separate funding is provided for the “Young Traffic Inspectors” movement — about 185 million rubles annually. The program will combine technical equipment for DPS, assistance to victims, and accident prevention.
