The Irkutsk Aviation Plant is expanding its staff amidst increasing MS-21 production volumes. The enterprise has already hired 173 people and plans to recruit a total of 500 employees by the end of the first quarter of 2027, said IAZ General Director Andrey Soynov.
According to the head of the enterprise, there is currently no shortage of personnel at the plant. The recruitment is aimed at increasing MS-21 production volumes and accelerating the movement of aircraft along the assembly line. Personnel recruitment has been synchronized with the specialist training program.
Some of the new employees already have the necessary specialization. This mainly refers to graduates of the Aviation and Material Processing Technical College, which trains personnel for the Irkutsk Aviation Plant. Another part of young specialists is being trained at the plant's educational and production complex. The enterprise has a mentoring and adaptation system in place.
Training a specialist to work with the MS-21 from scratch, depending on the specialization, takes from four to six months. Students of the specialized technical college undergo practical training at the enterprise during their studies and work under the guidance of mentors, so after graduation, they mainly require adaptation directly at the workplace.
Personnel recruitment is happening simultaneously with IAZ's plans to accelerate the MS-21 production cycle. In 2027, the plant expects to reach a planned pace of one aircraft every 40 calendar days, however, the current assembly cycle for one liner is about 11–12 months.
