The Production Association "Severnoye Mashinostroitelnoye Predpriyatiye" (PO "Sevmash", Severodvinsk) is fully fulfilling the state defense order, stated the enterprise's General Director Mikhail Budnichenko at a meeting with representatives of the trade union organization.
We have a large portfolio of orders, and we are successfully executing it. A clear perspective for the construction of two series of nuclear submarines is visible for several years ahead.
According to him, the enterprise "is under the control of the country's leadership," which, in his estimation, provides confidence in the further fulfillment of production tasks. Currently, Severodvinsk shipbuilders are carrying out work on more than 300 civilian contracts. The plant's management is also exploring cooperation with large corporations on other projects.
More than 26,000 people work at Sevmash. The priority task of the enterprise's personnel policy is to retain experienced specialists and train young ones, Budnichenko summarized.
In Severodvinsk, fourth-generation submarines of two series are being built: 955A "Borei-A" — strategic nuclear cruisers carrying ballistic missiles, and 885M "Yasen-M" — multi-purpose submarines with cruise missiles. In addition to shipbuilding, the enterprise produces bearings for icebreakers (Project 22220), as well as forgings and stampings from ferrous and non-ferrous metals for industry.
