The large-scale program for the production of Tu-214 civilian airliners at the Kazan Aircraft Plant has literally run into Soviet industrial heritage. New aircraft have to be machined on heavy equipment from a bygone era.
The plant has opened recruitment for specialists willing to manually catch hundredths of a millimeter on machines developed more than half a century ago. Aircraft manufacturers are ready to pay masters from 350,000 rubles per month.
The main requirement for applicants is the ability to work on 6R13 vertical milling machines without CNC. This equipment has colossal rigidity and a power of 10 kW, which is suitable for power milling of titanium and high-strength duralumin for spars and landing gear.
Millers are offered a 35/25 shift with a 6/1 schedule for 11 hours, including night shifts. The plant fully pays for accommodation, VHI, and travel.
