The Russian transnational energy company Gazprom has resumed gas supply via the Power of Siberia pipeline after completing scheduled maintenance. This was reported by the supplier's press service.
The work was carried out from September 15 to 22. All planned activities were completed in full, the company added.
Gas transportation has resumed today.
According to the gas purchase and sale agreement between PAO Gazprom and China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC), equipment and systems maintenance should be carried out twice a year — in spring and autumn.
Last year, supplies via Power of Siberia amounted to 38.8 billion cubic meters of gas. This is 800 million cubic meters more than the contractual obligations of the Russian side.
The pumping of hydrocarbons from Russia to China via this pipeline began at the end of 2019. The supply agreement is for 30 years, its value is 400 billion dollars.
