"Oktava DM" presented the new professional dynamic microphone ECHO. This was reported to "Pervy Tekhnichesky" by the company's press service. The model is based on the engineering heritage of Tula's "Oktava" and features a modern interpretation of the recognizable design of one of the enterprise's iconic microphones.
ECHO is designed for studio and concert work, vocals, and content creation. The microphone is equipped with a proprietary dynamic capsule. "Oktava DM" became the first Russian company to launch a full cycle of dynamic capsule production.
The microphone supports two connection methods – XLR and USB-C. This allows it to be used with both professional audio equipment and directly with a PC. The cardioid polar pattern helps to focus recording on the voice or sound source, reducing the influence of ambient noise.
In terms of sound, ECHO combines controlled lows, natural mids, an expressive presence zone, and an extended upper range, according to the manufacturer. The microphone operates in the range of 50–18,500 Hz, provides a sensitivity of at least 1.7 mV/Pa, a maximum sound pressure level of at least 130 dB SPL, and has an impedance of no more than 200 Ohms.
The microphone's appearance reinterprets the design of the MK-13M, which was produced by the Tula "Oktava" factory since 1972 for professional radio and television equipment, sound reinforcement, and studio work. At the same time, ECHO is an independent modern development. "Oktava DM" noted that its own dynamic capsule, which the company fully develops and produces in Tula, is of particular importance.
