The head of the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade, Anton Alikhanov, has purchased a Russian electric car "Atom" and is already driving it. He informed journalists about this on September 15.

In July, Kama, the developer of the Russian electric car "Atom", began delivering the first cars to customers who had pre-ordered them during the early reservation stage. In mid-September 2026, mass production of the electric car began at the Moskvich plant using a full technological cycle.

The development of "Atom" has been underway since 2021. In May 2023, the first functional prototype was presented in Moscow. In December 2025, pre-sales for KamAZ employees began with a deposit of 250 thousand rubles. Open pre-sales for everyone started in April 2026 – the contribution was 150 thousand rubles.

"Atom" Specifications

The electric car is built on its own modular platform with rear-wheel drive. The range is up to 500 km according to the WLTP cycle, engine power is 204 hp (150 kW), acceleration to 100 km/h is about 7 seconds. The 77 kWh battery is manufactured using nickel-cobalt-manganese technology. The official price of "Atom" is 3.98 million rubles. Taking into account the preferential car loan program, the cost is reduced to 3.055 million rubles.
