Fraudsters have started making mass calls to pensioners on behalf of the Bank of Russia and commercial banks. As reported by the Moshelovka platform of the People's Front, elderly people are told that their pension is allegedly going to be transferred to digital rubles.
Then the person is offered to "refuse" the new form of payments. To confirm, they are asked to dictate a code from an SMS – upon receiving it, the attackers can carry out an operation with the victim's money.
Moshelovka reminds that banks and the Bank of Russia do not transfer pensions and savings to digital rubles without a person's consent. The new form of currency can only be used voluntarily.
Experts advise against disclosing SMS codes, passwords, and logins to anyone under the pretext of "canceling" a pension or benefit transfer. A digital wallet for crediting digital rubles also cannot be opened for a person without their consent.
