Engineers from the "Soliton" company developed a light armored buggy "Boyets" based on "Niva" components. The vehicle was created for operations in dangerous zones near the front line, where ordinary civilian vehicles no longer provide the necessary protection for the crew.
The main feature is a BR-2 class steel armored capsule for the driver and passenger. The entire vehicle weighs about 1200 kg, and behind the cabin is a cargo bed with a capacity of 500 kg. It can accommodate stretchers for two wounded and still have space for one more person.
The vehicle with the armored capsule weighs little – about 1200 kg. Auto mechanics are well aware of all the features of the "Niva" and will easily understand the buggy's design and, if necessary, quickly repair it even in field conditions.
Protection is enhanced by external Kevlar panels and armor plates. The windows are made of 20-mm monolithic polycarbonate. At the same time, the developers maintained the "Niva"'s maintainability: the engine and main components are well known to Russian mechanics.
The "Boyets" has a flat bottom, 80 cm ground clearance, a winch, and bulletproof wheels with polyurethane composite filling. The 40-liter fuel tank provides about 400 km on the road or up to 200 km on heavy off-road terrain.
