Production cooperation in the Mikoyan Design Bureau did not disappear after the reorganization of the corporation's enterprises. Technological and even personal connections remained between individual design bureaus and factories, which can be important for complex projects, explained Nikolay Chikunov, a Category I engineer at the MiG Design Bureau, to "Pervy Tekhnichesky".
He recalled that the unified structure included the MiG Design Bureau, the Nizhny Novgorod "Sokol" plant, the Kalyazin Machine-Building Plant, and the Lukhovitsky Aircraft Plant. Although the enterprises are now organizationally separated, interaction between them has continued.
Inside the former MiG corporation, connections still remained, albeit not very obvious to external observers.
According to the designer, these connections allow enterprises to interact not only within the framework of current production tasks. Chikunov believes that the preserved cooperation is capable of ensuring the performance of more complex work.
Earlier, Chikunov warned that if the Mikoyan bureau were to join "Sukhoi", the MiG school could lose a large number of engineers. In this case, the developer of the promising MiG-41 risks performing only an auxiliary unit role.
