The Russian Verba MANPADS, designed to destroy aircraft and helicopters, has proven to be effective against significantly more compact electric-powered drones. The High Precision Systems holding company reported that the system is used not only against heavy UAVs but also against reconnaissance drones and fire adjusters.
It is small electric UAVs that represent a more unusual category of targets for Verba. According to the holding company, the system has shown effectiveness when firing at such devices, including drones used for reconnaissance and fire adjustment.
At the same time, heavy drones remain typical targets for MANPADS and are regularly hit by Verba. High Precision Systems notes that the system is used both on the line of contact against reconnaissance UAVs and in repelling attacks by strike drones.
Representatives of the holding company spoke about the use of Verba at the El Alamein International Airshow 2026 in Egypt. The exhibition runs from September 8 to 10 at El Alamein International Airport.
