The Russian Ministry of Transport will discuss amendments to taxi legislation, providing for the equalization of fares for families with children and regular passengers. The agency plans to submit the relevant amendments within several months. The details were disclosed by the head of the Ministry of Transport, Andrey Nikitin.
The agency is looking for a mechanism that will allow equalizing the cost of trips for families with children with fares for regular trips, together with the country's largest taxi aggregator - Yandex.
The Ministry has also provided a mechanism for automatic confirmation of the preferential status of large families when ordering a taxi. Currently, for this, the ordering service will have to send a request to the state information system to confirm the status without a separate document check.
For now, the new approach is being tested as part of an experiment in Ufa. Based on its results, the Ministry of Transport plans to prepare changes to the legislation and submit amendments by the end of 2026.
