PAO "RusHydro" commissioned a 110 kV substation and a 47 km long 110 kV power transmission line to supply power to the under-construction "Three Volcanoes" park, TASS reports from the launch ceremony at the Eastern Economic Forum.
Kamchatka's energy system operates in isolation from Russia's unified energy system; previously, the recreational area had no centralized power supply. The new infrastructure will provide electricity to the complex, which is being built 80 km from Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky.
The "Three Volcanoes" park, covering an area of 1300 hectares, is located between the Vilyuchinsky, Mutnovsky, and Gorely volcanoes. The project is being implemented by "Interros", and the resort is planned to open by 2030: the first phase with 100 hotel rooms and 16.6 km of ski slopes will be operational in 2028, and the second phase will add another 400 rooms and 13.2 km of slopes by 2030.
