The first Il-114-300 will be delivered to the customer in 2026, with two more liners in early 2027. Three aircraft are in an advanced state of readiness, said Deputy Head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade Gennady Abramenkov at the EEF.
The first aircraft are expected to be received by the Second Arkhangelsk United Air Detachment. The liner is designed for 66 passengers and has a flight range of 1,450 km. After certification, the United Aircraft Corporation (OAK) received many applications from carriers from the European part of Russia, Siberia, and the Far East.
OAK estimates production at 6–12 aircraft per year depending on demand. GTLK estimated the airlines' need for almost 40 Il-114-300s.
Now the program needs to remove temperature restrictions. Documents for the aircraft's operation at minus 40 degrees have already been submitted to the aviation register, and materials for the plus 40 degrees regime have been collected. For 2027, extensive work on ground landings is planned, and the Ministry of Industry and Trade expects certification of such operation next year.
The model was created by a wide cooperation of Rostec enterprises under the auspices of the Il company of OAK; it is a modernized version of the Il-114. The removal of restrictions will expand the declared operating conditions of the liner, and demand from carriers creates a basis for transitioning from the first three aircraft to a larger series.
The Ministry of Industry and Trade reported that the Russian passenger aircraft Il-114-300 is the only aircraft in its class equipped with three laser inertial systems for flight safety.
The Kamchatka government reported in June that the region would be one of the first to receive the Il-114-300 to replace the "corn-planes" – An-24 and An-26.
