KAMAZ has developed and presented a special vehicle based on the KAMAZ-65958 chassis with an 8×8 wheel arrangement, an INMAN IM 150N crane-manipulator unit, and a special pipe grab. The machine was created jointly with "Kran Tsentr KAMAZ" and the PALFINGER group of companies according to the technical specifications of a large customer for work in heavy off-road conditions.
The machine is based on the all-wheel drive KAMAZ-65958 chassis with a 560 hp KAMAZ P6 engine of Euro-5 environmental class. The crane is installed behind the cab on the rear overhang and has a lifting moment of 14.3 t·m. It lifts up to 6.1 tons, and the maximum boom outreach is 8.02 meters. At this distance, the permissible load weight reaches 1.69 tons.
A special grab was developed for the machine, designed for pipes with a diameter of 125–150 mm and high-pressure hoses with a diameter of up to 180 mm. It allows one operator to perform loading, unloading, and installation of pipes, reducing the number of manual operations and working time at height.
The crane-manipulator unit can be controlled remotely from the ground or from the upper post. The unit is equipped with overload protection, and the flatbed platform has a tarpaulin and steel folding sides. The KAMAZ-65958 is capable of towing a trailer with a gross weight of up to 14.5 tons, while its dimensions allow the machine to be used on public roads.
