The first TENET sedan has received a Russian price tag: the base A8 "Prime" version costs 2,999,000 rubles, and the top-end "Ultra" version costs 3,499,000 rubles. At the same time, the maximum configuration received a 197-horsepower engine and an 8-speed automatic transmission, which allows the new product to compete with popular business-class sedans, including the Toyota Camry.
In the "Prime" version, the TENET A8 is equipped with a 1.6-liter turbocharged engine with 150 hp and a 7-speed robotic gearbox. The top-end A8 "Ultra" received a 2-liter engine with 197 hp, 375 Nm of torque, and an 8-speed automatic transmission. Such a car accelerates to 100 km/h in 9 seconds, and the maximum speed is 210 km/h.
In terms of equipment, TENET relies on options familiar to a modern business sedan. Both versions include LED optics, a digital instrument panel, and a large 15.6-inch multimedia screen. Electrically adjustable front seats, their heating, and a surround view system are also available.
The older version has a significantly wider list of equipment. It received 18-inch alloy wheels, a panoramic roof, ventilation for the front seats, a Sony audio system, dual-zone climate control, and a cooled box in the center console. The electronic assistants include adaptive cruise control, lane keeping assist, and automatic emergency braking.
At its price, the TENET A8 is in a zone where buyers are already considering not only mass-market Chinese sedans but also models traditionally classified as business class. In this segment, one of the most recognizable benchmarks remains the Toyota Camry. However, it is premature to call the Japanese model a direct competitor to the A8: TENET is just entering the market, and the real position of the sedan will become clearer after sales begin.
