AZUR air can now independently service CF6-80C2 and PW4000-94 engines, which equip Boeing 767 aircraft. The corresponding expansion of the maintenance organization certificate was approved by Rosaviatsiya: the airline received a B1 category rating.
The airline can now perform periodic engine maintenance, implement service bulletins and modifications, and dismantle and install components and piping elements. The list of authorized operations also includes preservation, organization of their storage, and testing in all operating modes.
For the airline, this means that a significant part of the work with Boeing 767 power plants can be performed in-house. Previously, operations of this level required attracting third-party organizations. Now, engines can be removed from the aircraft, necessary work can be performed at the company's own production facility, and then returned to the aircraft after maintenance.
The rating applies not only to AZUR air's own aircraft. The company has gained the ability to service similar CF6-80C2 and PW4000-94 engines installed on Boeing 767s of other operators. This expands the potential workload of its own engineering center.
