Sormovskaya CHPP has completed the scheduled major overhaul of turbine unit No. 1. The work was carried out by the Nizhny Novgorod branch of "T Plus", additionally replacing the turbine condenser tube system.
As part of the repair, power engineers updated 5,800 brass tubes. Each is 6.6 meters long, and the total mass of the tube system reaches 25 tons.
The turbine condenser converts spent steam back into water and creates the vacuum necessary for the stable operation of the turbine unit. The replacement of its tube system became an additional part of the major overhaul program beyond the standard scope of work.
Sormovskaya CHPP provides heat and hot water to residents of the Sormovsky, Moskovsky, and Kanavinsky districts of Nizhny Novgorod. The completed work should increase the reliability of the station's equipment.
