"Courier" mine clearance with "Ignis" laser shown for the first time on video

The system eliminates munitions at distances up to 500 meters without detonating them

The ground robotic complex “Courier” was shown in operation with new weaponry — the “Ignis” laser system, which allows remote destruction of explosive objects without their detonation. The development was presented as part of the “Kulibin-club” program of the People's Front.

The laser beam heats the target to a temperature of about 1000 °C, burning through the munition casing and incinerating the explosive inside. No explosion occurs, which makes the operation as safe as possible. The robot can operate ahead of sapper groups, including in semi-destroyed buildings, where the risk to humans is particularly high.

The “Ignis” system has a range of up to 500 meters and maintains effectiveness in fog and smoke screens. The operator aims the laser through an optical sight — the accuracy of engagement allows direct impact on the detonator or the munition casing.

In addition to mine clearance, the “Courier” platform is used for ammunition delivery, evacuation of the wounded, and fire support for assault units. The development is carried out by the company “NRTK KAPS”. According to experts, the appearance of robotic equipment significantly facilitates the work of sappers and reduces the risk to personnel.
