Russians bought 49.8 thousand cars of domestic brands in July 2026. This sales figure was recorded for the first time since October 2025, said Alexander Kornev, head of the department for working with importers at Gazprombank Autoleasing.
In July of this year, sales of domestic brands almost reached the high mark of 50 thousand units.
The share of Russian car sales in the market increased by 11%, to 41.1% compared to July 2025.
In the second month of summer, the Volga brand showed significant growth among new domestic brands — sales increased 3.4 times (435 units). In addition, Umo sales grew by 151% (304 units) and Jeland by 97% (1.9 thousand units).
Lada Granta (11.1 thousand units) once again became the leader in the model top. It is followed by Tenet T7 with an indicator of 7 thousand units, and Lada Vesta (6 thousand units) also made it into the top three.
Experts believe that Russians began to choose domestic cars due to rising import prices, increased recycling fees, and state support for the local automotive industry.
