Telegram has applied to register its own .gram domain zone. This was announced by Pavel Durov. Now ICANN, the organization that manages the domain name system and IP addresses, must make a decision.
If approved, Telegram will have its own second-level domains. Users will be able to get addresses in the .gram zone and use them for websites hosted directly on the messenger's infrastructure.
According to Durov, such websites are planned to be created using AI: it will be enough to enter a text query, after which the platform will be able to assemble an interactive page.
For now, .gram remains only an application. Telegram has not announced the timing of the review and possible launch of the new domain zone.
