59 AI-powered solutions for medicine registered in Russia

New technologies help doctors in diagnosing and treating diseases

Dozens of new artificial intelligence solutions have emerged in medicine. In Russia, 59 products using AI technologies to assist doctors have already been registered. These developments are applied in diagnostics and medical equipment. Alla Samoylova, head of the Federal Service for Surveillance in Healthcare, revealed the details.

According to Samoylova, the future belongs to such technologies. Artificial intelligence already helps specialists analyze data, establish diagnoses, and continue patient treatment in the medical instruments and systems where it is used.

The head of Roszdravnadzor also reported that over 42 thousand units of medical equipment are registered in the country. The registry grows annually at a significant pace, and special mechanisms have been created for accelerated registration of domestic equipment.

Today, we can be proud of the equipment that is actually produced in our country.

AI in Russian medicine

Artificial intelligence is being actively introduced into Russian medicine. Minister of Health Mikhail Murashko noted that almost every region already uses at least three to four AI products, and the number of registered medical devices with AI continues to grow monthly.

The question of the boundaries of technology application remains open: at the SPIEF platform, experts from the Ministry of Health and WHO discussed cases where a neural network noticed dangerous pathologies missed by a doctor, and debated who is responsible for an algorithm error. For now, the consensus is: AI remains a tool, and the final decision rests with the specialist.

On the horizon for 2030 is a proprietary line of domestic medical devices with AI: the government has approved a plan according to which Russia should have both diagnostic software and smart equipment for clinics.
