The three-barreled automated turret based on PKT machine guns passed another stage of field tests at a distance of 100 to 500 m. Engineers from KB "Radart" checked the operation of the target tracking system of the automatic complex, having loaded new software for ballistic calculation and lead into it.
For the developers, this was only the second field trip, but the main tasks for the software part have already been completed. The system received automatic target acquisition in different areas of the image and is able to hold it at various movement speeds.
During the tests, the developers checked the operation of the automation at high angular velocities. According to their data, the system maintained target tracking at a speed of more than 60 degrees per second.
A mathematical model of the ammunition trajectory and lead calculation, taking into account the initial velocity and its decrease during flight, were also added to the software. At distances up to 300 m, the calculated error, according to KB "Radart", did not exceed 10 cm. At 500 m, the error was approximately three times higher.
The next stage is to check the system's operation under various conditions and test it against unmanned aerial targets. After that, the developers plan to correct the identified software errors and refine the control interface of the three-barreled turret.
