Up to 1500 turbochargers per year: Penzadieselmash modernizes testing equipment

Two stands now automatically record parameters and generate test reports without manual data entry

Two modernized automated stands for turbocharger testing have been put into operation at Penzadieselmash. The equipment will allow for faster acceptance tests of new models and the generation of ready-made reports without manual transfer of measurement results.

After the stands were updated, the main measurements are performed automatically. The operator does not have to manually transfer the obtained values to the report: the system itself collects data and generates a report based on the test results. This should reduce inspection time and decrease the likelihood of errors in processing results.

Automation affected not only the control process itself. Physical load on personnel at workplaces has decreased, and conditions in the test area have become safer and cleaner.

The modernization of testing equipment is part of a larger plan for the development of turbocharger production. Penzadieselmash expects to create capacities for producing up to 1500 such units per year, update its machine tool fleet, and launch new models on the market.

In 2026, the enterprise has already moved to controlled operation of the pilot batch, conducts preliminary tests of serial samples of new modifications, and develops the production of radial-type turbochargers. These units are declared to have increased efficiency, reliability, and maintainability.
