Twenty-four violations were identified on two Yamal passenger aircraft, including fuselage and wing defects, engine damage, and fastener issues. One of the aircraft was a Sukhoi Superjet 100, and the other was an Airbus A320-232. The violations were not reflected in the production documentation.
According to case materials, inspectors found violations on SSJ-100 with registration number RA-89088 and Airbus A320 with number RA-73695. The observations included defects in the fuselage and wing structures, damage to engines, fasteners, glazing, and interior elements.
Following the inspection, Rostransnadzor issued an order to Yamal and prohibited the operation of both aircraft until the identified violations were rectified. Subsequently, the airline addressed the issues but attempted to challenge the order itself.
The court of first instance denied the carrier's claims, and on April 1, 2026, the appellate instance upheld this decision. On July 1, the Arbitration Court of the Moscow District also rejected Yamal's cassation appeal. The court confirmed the legality of Rostransnadzor's actions and stated that the operator is obliged to ensure the technical condition of aircraft and reflect necessary information in operational documentation.
Particular attention in the case was drawn to the SSJ-100. The court established that aircraft RA-89088 was part of Yamal's operating fleet, and the violations found on it were not reflected in the production documentation. The case materials also note that the aircraft were not excluded from the operator's certificate or from operation before the inspection, and their airworthiness certificates were not suspended.
