Crews of Grad multiple launch rocket systems (MLRS) have abandoned the usual scheme of a massive salvo from one position. The systems began to operate on the principle of a "fire carousel."
While one vehicle is firing, the second is reloading, and the third is changing position. This tactic allows reducing the risk of damage to the rocket systems themselves, explained military expert Yuri Lyamin.
The essence is to keep enemy positions under constant fire.
According to him, constant fire forces the enemy to take cover, depriving them of the ability to properly use communication and reconnaissance equipment. This creates a window for assault units to act.
Recall that the Grad carries 40 guides for 122 mm rockets. The firing range of a high-explosive fragmentation projectile is 40 km. The MLRS combat vehicle is built on the Ural-4320 truck chassis.
