The first production fully import-substituted MC-21-310 performed a flight with Russian-made aircraft tires. The products for the aircraft's chassis were developed and manufactured by the Altai Tire Plant.
For the MC-21, the Altai Tire Plant developed two sizes of aircraft tires. Model 770×240 R356 is intended for the nose landing gear, and 1260×450 R559 for the main landing gear. The development of these products began in 2020.
Before being installed on the aircraft, the tires underwent a full cycle of qualification and certification checks. Tests of the nose tire were completed in the fall of 2024, and the main tires were tested in the winter and spring of 2025. All qualification tests according to the requirements of standard KT 32-02 were passed on the first selection.
Following the work, ASHK received valid Certificates of Component Airworthiness. These documents confirm the compliance of the tires with the established requirements and allow their use as part of aviation equipment.
For the enterprise, the flight of the production MC-21 marked a transition from bench tests to product testing directly on the aircraft. Earlier, ASHK reported that flight tests should confirm the performance of the tires in real operating conditions before moving to mass production.
Denis Gudashev, Chief Designer of ASHK, noted that the first flight of the production airliner confirmed the readiness of the developed products for operation as part of the MC-21.
