Arena-M tank protection system shot down 7 drones for the first time

The Arena-M active tank protection system destroyed seven attack drones in one combat episode. This was reported by analysts of "Voennaya Khronika" with reference to sources.

It should be noted that the Russian Ministry of Defence has not yet officially confirmed this information. The specific type of tank that used "Arena" is unknown; there was information about its installation on T-90M "Proryv" and T-72B3M.

Recall that the "Arena-M" complex includes a multifunctional radar station with high jamming immunity, which independently detects targets.

For targeted destruction of projectiles, narrow-directional ammunition is used, placed around the perimeter of the tank's turret in special mounting shafts. The total ammunition capacity of the KAZ is 12 shots.

The Telegram channel "Voenny Osvedomitel" added that due to the dimensions of the complex and the limited space on the tank, increasing the number of charges would be problematic.

Earlier, military expert Evgeny Damantsev warned that "Arena-M" needs software and hardware updates to counter high-speed drones.
