NPO "Aviatekhnologiya" received a patent for a utility model of a unit for introducing and mixing anti-icing fluid (AIF) into aviation fuel. The device is intended for use in aircraft fuel supply systems for flights.
The device is a pipe fragment with flanges for connection to the pipeline and a tube for supplying AIF. Inside the pipe there is a washer that transforms the smooth fuel flow into a swirling one, which allows the fluid to mix evenly with the fuel. After this, the flow becomes smooth again. As a result, the AIF is distributed uniformly throughout the entire volume of fuel.
The development is part of a comprehensive aircraft refueling management system that automates fuel accounting and additive injection. Currently, such systems operate at more than 30 aviation enterprises in Russia based on airfield fuel trucks.
The equipment was created as part of import substitution efforts. Previously, similar dispensers were supplied only by foreign manufacturers. Now, the domestic device not only increases the accuracy of AIF injection but also reduces dependence on foreign suppliers.
