A new version of the "Gorynych" cargo drone has learned to accurately deliver cargo using optical sensors and navigation without GPS. The device can carry up to 10 kg of payload and operate at a distance of more than 12 km.
The updated drone was developed by the Scientific and Production Center "Svarog". The manufacturer reported that the new system allows for high-precision cargo drops even with strong satellite signal interference.
Instead of GPS, the device uses optical sensors, inertial navigation, and a digital terrain map. Thanks to this, the drone can independently move along a given route and correct its position during flight.
SPC "Svarog" noted that the new version received a digital communication channel and became easier to operate. According to company representatives, the drone can now be controlled as easily as popular civilian quadcopters.
This means that the drone is now very easy to control, like a Mavic. This allows a larger number of non-professional operators to use the device.
"Gorynych" was also equipped with an artificial intelligence system that helps perform navigation tasks without constant use of satellite data.
