Former AvtoVAZ engineer and car blogger KhaDm shared his impressions of operating the Lada Iskra in summer. According to him, the car pleasantly surprised him — in summer, it causes almost no trouble, and two-thirds of all malfunctions only appear at low temperatures.
At temperatures below -5°C, problems with air flow jamming, sticking keys and door handles, and tachometer failure may occur. However, nothing of the sort happens in summer, and electrical glitches are much rarer. The air conditioner, according to the blogger, works well. KhaDm recommends the Lada Iskra to those who live in southern regions where the temperature does not drop below zero.
I cannot, unfortunately, say why this car is not prepared for winter operation. Apparently, AvtoVAZ top managers live somewhere in Tahiti and think that in Russia, the temperature does not drop below zero.
