The idea of transferring the Tu-214 passenger airliner project under the management of PAO "Yakovlev" is doomed to failure, as the attitude towards it there is negative. However, a change of leadership at the Kazan Aircraft Plant can breathe new life into the project, analysts from "Tekhnosfera Rossiya" reported.
Serial production of the Tu-214 is currently only possible in Kazan, where all the necessary equipment is available. The root of the problem lies in the lack of financial discipline at the enterprise, analysts emphasized.
If all this is simply handed over to "Yakovlev", nothing will change. This aircraft is like a suitcase without a handle for them. The leaders must be replaced. He can be an engineer or a pilot, the main thing is that he knows how to interact with suppliers, with personnel, and most importantly, he knows how to work with all carriers and understands the work of the enterprise.

Additional risks are posed by the upcoming relocation of PAO "Tupolev" from Moscow to Kazan — the enterprise may lose up to 50% of its specialists.
