The first group of train drivers for "Moskva-2026" trains, who will work on the new Rublyovo-Arkhangelskaya metro line, has begun training at the Solntsevo electric depot. According to Moscow Deputy Mayor Maksim Liksutov, as reported by TASS, a total of 60 specialists will undergo training.
Train drivers study the train's design on a special training train and practice driving skills. The full course is designed for 45 days and includes both theory and on-line training. The first section of five stations is planned to open in 2026, and the entire 28-kilometer branch to Krasnogorsk in 2027.
The "Moskva-2026" is a train assembled from domestic components with adaptive lighting, wide doors, USB and Type-C connectors, and through gangways between cars. Maximum capacity has increased by 10%, and doors have become 32% wider. The line has already been inspected by a diagnostic complex and a gauge car – the infrastructure is ready to receive trains.
