Just over 200 rubles for a 10-second shot: The "Perun" laser system for combating any drones is being tested in Russia

The development by SPC "Svarog" hits targets at a distance of up to 5 kilometers

The "Perun" laser system for countering any type of drones, whose battery provides up to 15 minutes of continuous radiation, is being tested in Russia. This was stated by the official representative of the Scientific and Production Center (SPC) "Svarog".

The complex is designed to protect stationary objects: military-industrial, fuel and energy complexes, transport and critical infrastructure, including ports.

"Perun" can be used as part of mobile groups, he added.

Characteristics of the laser system:

  • Combat duty time — up to 5 hours
  • Engagement range — up to 5 km
  • Detection and aiming video camera
  • Thermal imager
  • Technical vision system based on AI

SPC "Svarog" clarified that the cost of one shot (10 sec.) is estimated at 205 rubles. In the stationary version, the complex is based on a marine 20-foot container, in the mobile version — on a chassis with a carrying capacity of up to 5 tons.

"Perun" includes a two-axis turret and a turret control module. Neural network and analytical methods of information processing are used for target recognition, summarized the developer's representative.
