In the Saratov region, drivers will start having fines canceled for stopping in a "No Stopping" zone if they received them while queuing at gas stations. Decisions on such rulings will be made taking into account the circumstances of the situation — including the driver's actions under extreme necessity or the insignificance of the violation. This was announced by the official representative of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs, Irina Volk, in the "Max" messenger.
Regional divisions of the Russian State Traffic Inspectorate will consider motorists' appeals. A separate decision will be made for each ruling to cancel the fine if it is established that the driver was in such a situation due to waiting for fuel. The circumstances of each case will be taken into account.
Earlier it was reported that in the Saratov region, motorists who were queuing at gas stations began to receive fines from cameras for being in a "No Stopping" zone.
Violations were recorded by two automatic recording complexes belonging to regional authorities. The Ministry of Internal Affairs clarified that the cancellation of such rulings is possible through their appeal or after a prosecutor's protest in the prescribed manner.
Irina Volk also reported that, at the initiative of the State Traffic Inspectorate of the Saratov region, regional authorities stopped digital recording of such violations from July 1.
