S-400 and Su-57E could become a single system for hunting stealth fighters

IDRW: The combination of Russian complexes can turn into a continuous air defense network

Russian S-400 systems and the export version of the fifth-generation Su-57E fighter are capable of operating as a single system for detecting and destroying stealth aircraft. This conclusion was reached by the Indian publication IDRW, assessing the possibilities of combining a long-range anti-aircraft system and an aviation complex.

According to the authors of the publication, the combination of the S-400 ground-based radar network with the capabilities of the Su-57E can form an integrated “kill chain” in which different elements will exchange data on the air situation and jointly perform tasks to search for complex targets.

The S-400 is already capable of detecting a wide range of aerial objects at significant distances, including aircraft with reduced radar visibility. At the same time, the Su-57E has its own reconnaissance means, modern onboard electronic equipment, and the ability to operate in conditions of saturated air defense.

The Indian publication notes that the main advantage of this combination is not the individual effectiveness of each system, but their joint work. Ground-based systems can provide an extended radar field, and the fifth-generation fighter can receive target data, refine their coordinates, and perform tasks at the forefront.

The authors of the publication believe that such integration is especially important against modern stealth fifth-generation fighters, which were created to reduce the probability of detection by traditional radars.

The ability to exchange information between different platforms plays a significant role in such a system. The faster data about an aerial target is transmitted between aircraft, radars, and destruction means, the higher the probability of a successful interception.
