India will receive the last, fifth S-400 “Triumf” complex in November 2026, after which the Russian long-range system will be fully integrated into the Indian armed forces. Russia will complete the delivery as part of an agreement for five regimental kits, concluded between the two countries in 2018.

The final delivery will enter the concluding phase of a large-scale contract, estimated at $5.4 billion. India has already received three S-400 complexes, and two more are planned for delivery by the end of 2026. According to Indian sources, deliveries of the fourth kit may occur ahead of schedule, with the fifth kit expected in November.

The Russian S-400 “Triumf” system is designed to protect large objects and troops from a wide range of aerial threats. The complex is capable of detecting and engaging aircraft, cruise missiles, and ballistic targets at long distances, using several types of anti-aircraft guided missiles. The maximum engagement range for individual targets is stated to be up to 400 km.

Upon completion of deliveries, India will receive a full set of five complexes, which form the basis of its layered air defense system. The S-400 is already integrated into the structure of the Indian armed forces and is used to cover strategically important areas.

The initial delivery schedule faced delays due to logistics issues and external restrictions, but Moscow and New Delhi were able to agree on the completion of the deal. The Russian side stated that the remaining systems would be delivered in accordance with the updated schedule.
